What Are PDO (Polydioxanone) Lifting Threads?
The “Non-Surgical Facelift” is an excellent choice for those seeking a safe, minimally invasive solution to rejuvenate their appearance. After numbing the skin with lidocaine, these biocompatible sutures with small barbs are strategically placed beneath the skin further restore firmness and elasticity. PDO threads can be a fantastic alternative for those who are looking to address sagging skin through a minimally invasive procedure without invasive surgery, and at a fraction of the cost of a facelift. The results are natural and instant with minimal downtime and trauma.
Our practice values quality and uses MINT™ PDO Molded Lifting Threads, which are the first and only device of its kind to achieve triple FDA clearance for skin approximation, nasolabial fold depth reduction, and facial suspension.
What Kind Of Results Can I Expect?
To envision the results of the Non-Surgical PDO Threadlift, we recommend you lay down on your back and see how your mid and lower face appears in the mirror. You will see some instant results post-procedure and it will continue to improve as your body begins to build collagen to support the changes accomplished by the threads. The PDO threads will dissolve within 4-6 months as the collagen takes over. Results will last approximately 12 months. Annual maintenance threads recommended.
What Is The Recovery Like?
Swelling is common post procedure and is managed with ice, anti-histamines, and/or steroid. Some bruising may occur, but be managed with Arnica and avoiding non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen. We recommend acetaminophen to reduce any discomfort. Avoid too much exercise or any activity that can put a strain on your body for the first 72 hours following your Thread Lift. To allow the threads to settle and minimize strain and discomfort in the first few weeks, try to minimize exaggerated facial movements and opening the mouth wide to eat or for dental appointments. For the first month, avoid face-down massages, facials, laser treatments, IPL, RF, and sleeping on your side or stomach.

Why choose a dentist for a non-surgical face lift?
It may seem strange to visit a dental professional for facial esthetics, but dentists are actually incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the muscles in the face and how they work together. If you’re a current dental patient, scheduling PDO threading treatments with us means you’re working with a friendly team that you are already familiar with in an office that you have been to before. Since PDO threading is considered a “lunchtime treatment,” you can even have it done after your routine cleanings and exams!
