Root Canal Process
First, our team will apply a local anesthetic to numb the area we are working on. Next, a small hole will be made in the crown of the tooth to give us access to the infected pulp. We will remove the infection and thoroughly clean your canal, then seal it off with a tooth-colored material to prevent future infection. If your tooth needs additional support, a dental crown may be used to fully cap it and restore its structure. The root canal recovery process is smooth and often allows patients to return to work or school the very next day.

Root Canal FAQs
What is an endodontist?
An endodontist is a dental professional who specializes in the pulp of the tooth. However, many general dentists are fully equipped to perform a root canal procedure.
Is getting a root canal painful?
Root canal therapy is intended to alleviate tooth pain, not cause it. At Elevate Smile Design, we go to great lengths to ensure your experience is comfortable from start to finish.
When do you need a root canal?
Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp of the tooth is severely infected. Symptoms include pain when chewing, sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures, and a pimple-like bump on the gums.
